Reflexology Therapy

Did you know your feet have receptor points for your entire body? Reflexology is a holistic method that promotes relaxation and relieves stress through massage of Reflex points of the foot, which correspond to specific glands, organs and systems of the body.

Reflexology is a natural and holistic therapy using specific techniques of massage and pressure points on the feet which stimulates glands, organs and tissues in the entire body.

Reflexology is safe, effective and natural with no side effects. It is used to balance the body as well as assisting the body for treatment of specific conditions. There are ongoing clinical studies about the positive effects
of Reflexology for wellness as well as illness. Reflexology originated in China and India and has been used forthousands of years.

Reflexology - a holistic, natural and safe therapy with no side effects. Specific reflex points of the feet or hands connect to all the organs, glands and systems of the body (similar to the points in acupressure). Massage of those points helps stimulate & energize the entire body, feels great, and assists the circulation – great for anyone who is on their feet all day, or computer users, anyone who uses their hands all day!

Reflexology and massage causes your body to release chemicals called endorphins, which are called the “feel good” hormones. Hot Stone Reflexology --- a unique blend of reflexology and hot stone therapy. Each session is customized for your needs and can be legs & feet, hands & feet or hands, wrists and arms.

Help for Senior Citizens

Reflexology is particularly beneficial for senior citizens as it gently helps improve circulation to the entire body as well as the feet (or hands). It has also been helpful for headaches, arthritis, sinus problems, digestive problems, insomnia, depression and anxiety. Reflexology can
also help specific foot conditions like heel pain, swelling, plantar fasciatis, and peripheral neuropathy.

Reflexology:

Stimulates the liver and kidneys and other glands, and help rid the body of toxins

Relieves tension and stress and helps you to relax. Increases the "feel good" hormones.

Helps balance the nervous system and the release of endorphins which results in a feeling of well-being.

Increases levels of serotonin and brain chemicals to
lift depression.

Can reduce heart rate and blood pressure.

He Suffers from Peripheral Neuropathy.....
"I have peripheral neuropathy of the legs and feet which causes numbness in the legs and burning with alternating cold sensations in my feet. Although I am on medication, the blood flow to my legs and feet is not satisfactory. The hot stone massage and reflexology I get from from Mary definitely helps to warm up and increase the blood flow to my legs and feet. Even though my condition is incurable, Mary's hot stones for massage with reflexology gives me some relief from pain and poor blood flow. It creates a sense of general well-being which is welcome relief."

How Does Reflexology Work?
Reflex points on the feet, hands and ears connect to organs, glands and all parts of the body, similar to the meridians in acupuncture. By massaging those reflex points the associated glands, organs and systems are stimulated. These cells receive more blood supply, more oxygen and the lymphatic system assists the immune system by removing toxins and cellular waste. Reflexology has been shown to release endorphins - the 'feel good' hormones.

Reflexology also works to open and balance the subtle energy channels of the body that are not recognized or understood by Western Medicine but have been know in Oriental Medicine for thousands of years.

Most people hold stress somewhere in their body. One of the goals of Reflexology is to relieve stress and tension that may interfere with circulation and the natural flow of the body's energy.

Medical science now recognizes that stress is a leading factor in many diseases and that stress contributes to and aggravates many existing conditions - irritable bowel (IBS), stomach problems, indigestion, headaches, fibromyalgia, back pain, chronic fatigue, arthritis, and dozens of others. Research has also shown that deep relaxation contributes to wellness and a stronger immune system. Reflexology and other holistic therapies are powerful ways to manage stress, achieve deep relaxation, balance the body systems, maintain a healthy lifestyle and prevent illness.

Reflexology & Cancer Treatment:
Integrative oncology has become increasingly popular in comprehensive cancer treatment programs. The use of alternative therapies such as Reflexology for aggressive malignancies such as mesothelioma cancer is now considered standard protocol, as these treatments focus on treating not the advance or spread of tumor, but the alleviation of symptoms resulting from conventional therapies like mesothelioma radiation treatment.
