Learn 3-D Hot Stone Massage
Do you want to be Phenomenal? Now
you can bring your massage to a whole new level! Hot Stone Massage is
one of the most exciting and popular modalities. This 2-day Hot Stone
Training will teach you new techniques far beyond the traditional hot stone
classes. You will also be introduced to techniques of Phenomenal Touch®
and working the body in a 3-Dimensional way. You will learn all the
necessary aspects of giving a safe and flowing hot stone massage. This
training will teach you to use a unique system of handling and managing the
stones in your massage or bodywork to make your session flow with minimal
interruptions.
This is the
BEST hot stone training available and the cost is only $375. (Stones
and supplies are additional cost, please ask about affordable options.) In
addition to learning all the information about the benefits of using stones
and learning techniques for a wonderful, flowing 3-D hot stone massage, you
also will learn some of the Principles of Phenomenal Touch. These important
principles are the foundation of the work and can apply to ANY kind of touch
& bodywork, and they will absolutely set your work apart from any other. So,
you get all the information on the stones and techniques, PLUS an
understanding and hands-on work with the Principles. That is what will make
you Phenomenal! These
principles can also be applied to any type of massage and bodywork, with or
without hot stones. Your clients will feel the difference, and so will you!

As everyone has different learning styles, the class is
uniquely set up so that you experience many modalities - you will hear the
information, see demonstrations, feel the work on your body, and be assisted
to actually do the techniques. You will get a lot of help and attention
throughout the entire class, as well as receive many handouts.
Doing Phenomenal Touch Hot Stone massage will increase your
business in amazing ways! This training is a
wonderful investment in yourself and your business.
Experience Level: This is an introductory level class for massage
therapists, Reflexologists, Estheticians and bodyworkers with no
experience with hot stones,
a current massage student, or someone who does massage for
friends and family, or someone who is intending to re-start their practice
after time away….. Other interested persons who
are not professional therapists, including couples are invited to take the
class just for fun. This class is also suitable for therapists who already
use hot stones who want to learn unique methods and techniques to bring your
massage work to a whole new level and increase their business with these
techniques.

You Will Receive: Upon completion of this 2-day class you will receive a certificate of
Completion for 16 CE Hours (Category A CEU’s) from the Institute for
Phenomenal Touch, which meet the requirements for additional trainings for AMTA, NCBTMB and ABMP for massage therapists and body workers. The Institute
for Phenomenal Touch is Nationally Certified.

This Training Will Cover:
Important Principles -
Of touching the body using
Phenomenal Touch® Principles as well as Techniques. These principles will
become the foundation of your work for any type of massage or bodywork. An
example of just a few principles you will learn are -- the importance of
entrance & exit, working with flow, seamless transitions as you move from
one part to another in a beautiful integrated flow, using 3-Dimensional
techniques, obeying the speed limit of your client's body, melting the
muscles with hot stones before doing deeper work, proper stance and body
mechanics to protect yourself, and many more. Your clients will notice the
difference when you use Phenomenal Touch, and so will you!
The Benefits & Effects of Hot Stones - A detailed discussion of the
benefits and the reasons to integrate hot stones into your massage.
Proper Heating Methods (as well as using cold stones) - Using stones of
different temperatures, how to safely heat and cool them so they are
effective to use.
Hot Stone Placement - Safely working with size, shape and temperature of
stones and placing stones on the body in a safe and nurturing way, where and
how to place them and secure them. It feels wonderful!
Working With the Stones - Learn to actually massage muscle tissue in the
body with hot stones in a Phenomenal way! Massaging with hot stones, not
just placement, brings your massage to a whole new level and feels fantastic
to your clients. Understand how to use the different shapes, sizes, as well
as learn the creative use of stones in a massage. You will learn proper
placement in your hands, entrance onto the skin, and a wide variety of
techniques for using your stones as tools for deep relaxation as well as
therapeutic massage.
Flow and Integration - How to weave stones into your massage
in a seamless way, techniques to make the session flow with a balance
between using stones and your hands.
Hot Stone Management - How to organize and actually work with your
stones using the Phenomenal Touch organizational system. How to work with
many different stones, integrating them into your massage. Managing
different temperatures, having the right temperature stones when you need
them. How to control and organize the flow of stones into and out of the
cooker in an efficient way. Planning ahead for the right temperature stones
you will need next. How to use the stones for both massage and placement on
the body.
Precautions - The contraindications and precautions for using hot stones
with your clients. Discussions include the benefits of using stones for
health as well as working with clients with specific health conditions,
illnesses and injuries, and when you would not want to use hot or cold
stones. Cold Stones -
Benefits of cold versus heat, when and why you would use cold stones instead
of hot stones.
Stone Kits - What sizes, shapes,
types and amount of stones needed for an effective hot stone massage as well
as all the accessories to get started right away.
Setting up your Room for using Hot
Stones - Equipment needed, techniques, tips and layout for setting up
your room for effective management and flow during your massage.
Cleaning and Care of Your Stones - How to clean, sterilize and care for
your stones for each session, at the end of the day, how to store stones,
how to care for and re-energize them.

This class covers the basics of essential oils and how to use them for
health, medicine, cooking, cleaning and more. A variety of oils and blends
will be available to smell. Each participant will make several items using
essential oils including an aromatherapy rice bag (for hot or cold therapy),
a cough & cold chest rub, shoe fresh bags, rose petal potpourri and a
fragrant room freshener spray. Handouts with easy recipes will be given for
many products you can make for health and home. Fee, including materials:
$30 member; $35 non-member. Instructor: Mary Axelrod is a nationally
certified massage therapist. She uses essential oils for her clients' health
as well as her own. Her interests and hobbies include growing herbs and
perennials, and the history and uses of medicinal plants.

– A fun and informative way
to learn more about using essential oils, smell a variety of oils, make
useful items for your health & home, and get handouts and recipes. Cost
ranges from approx. $15 - $25 per person depending on the projects selected
for your workshop. The cost includes all supplies, handouts and materials.
Examples of workshop projects: aromatherapy massage oil,
potpourri and sachets, bath salts, a rice pack for hot/cold
therapy, shoe fresh bags, room freshener spray, natural cleaning spray,
cough & cold chest rub, natural bug repellant and other items. Easy to follow recipes and handouts will be

Have a FREE Aromatherapy Party in your Home! It's Fun & Different! You'll
learn about essential oils, smell a variety of oils, learn about the many

of your choice (as long as there is no cost), by appointment with a couple

Massage & the Body-Mind Connection - July 26, 2006
This free seminar
covers the benefits of therapeutic massage – Mary will explain the Body-Mind
Connection and the negative effects of stress. Therapeutic massage can help
relieve stress and tension and help you achieve deep relaxation. It can also
provide relief from back pain, neck & shoulder pain, repetitive strain and
carpal tunnel pain, tendonitis, whiplash, headaches, sciatica, leg & calf
pain, foot pain, and more. She will explain the body-mind connection, how
stress negatively affects the body and how massage and deep relaxation
benefits the body and helps you stay healthy by helping the immune system.
Chair Massage – Try it! Chair Massage is a wonderful way to
experience the benefits of therapeutic massage in a short session. It is
done in a special comfortable chair and is a wonderful way to get focused
stress / pain relief and relaxation for your neck, back, arms and hips. You
remain fully clothed for chair massage. Cost is $15 per person and checks
and cash are accepted (Sorry - No credit cards or Traveler’s Checks).
